Your lesson rate depends on the grading system — a points-based structure that determines both your level and your pay rate. The more points you earn, the higher your level and the higher your lesson payment.

The grading system takes into account your teaching experience, lesson quality and additional contribution to the platform. It gives you a transparent way to influence your income: you can clearly see what affects your rate and actively improve these indicators.

The grading system comes into effect once you complete your internship and receive Regular Teacher status.

While you work as a trainee, your rate remains fixed at UAH 15 GBP per lesson.

📈 How to Increase Your Grading Level

You increase your level by earning points. The grading system recognises three main types of achievement.

1. Professional Qualifications

  • Teaching degree — 50 points
Upload proof of higher pedagogical education during registration.
  • Teaching experience — 15 to 100 points
Points depend on your total teaching experience:
    up to 3 years — 15 points
    3–5 years — 25 points
    5–10 years — 50 points
    10–15 years — 75 points
    over 15 years — 100 points
  • Advanced-level teaching — 25 points
Awarded if you teach advanced or specialised programmes.
  • Exam preparation (GCSE Mathematics) — 50 points
Granted, if you prepare students for examinations.
  • Full technical setup — 100 points
Headset, camera and graphics tablet that support high-quality online lessons.
  • Teaching students with special educational needs — 50 points
Available to teachers with relevant qualifications who have conducted at least one such lesson on Mathema.

2. Performance on Mathema

These points reflect your teaching results on the platform.

  • 1,000 completed lessons — 10 points

  • 2,000 completed lessons — 20 points

  • 3,000 completed lessons — 30 points

  • Diagnostic lesson conversion rate of 80–100% — 50 points
When parents purchase a subscription after the diagnostic lesson, your conversion rate increases. Once your conversion reaches 80–100%, the system automatically awards 50 points.
If your conversion later drops below 80%, the system removes these bonus points from your total score.

3. Additional Contribution

These points recognise activity beyond regular teaching.

  • Opening 25 available teaching hours on weekdays between 16:00–21:00 — 15 points

  • Delivering open lessons on the Mathema YouTube channel — 50 points

❗️ If you end your cooperation with Mathema or teach students outside the platform, you lose all the points you have accumulated.
