Use of the Mathema.me Platform
1. Service Provider
The service provider and operator of the Platform is: Mathemame OÜ

(hereinafter referred to as “Mathema.me”).
Mathema.me operates an online tutoring platform (hereinafter referred to as the “Platform”), available under the domain https://mathema.me, related subdomains, and in the mobile application. The Platform enables the organization and delivery of online tutoring services, including video lessons, and facilitates payments for such services through authorized payment service providers.
2. Definitions
Unless otherwise stated, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below:
- Platform – the online service operated by Mathema.me, enabling Users to access educational services and tools.
- User – any natural person or legal entity using the Platform.
- Student – a User using the Platform in order to find a Tutor and participate in tutoring services. Where the Student is a minor, the parent or legal guardian acts on the Student’s behalf.
- Tutor (Teacher) – a natural person or legal entity providing tutoring services through the Platform.
- Tutoring Agreement – a separate agreement concluded directly between the Student and the Tutor concerning the provision of tutoring services.
- Vouchers / Hours – prepaid educational units purchased through the Platform and exchanged for tutoring services.
3. Nature of the Platform
1. Mathema.me provides a technical and organizational platform enabling Students and Tutors to connect, schedule lessons, and settle payments.
2. Mathema.me is not a party to Tutoring Agreements concluded between Students and Tutors.
3. Tutors act as independent service providers and are solely responsible for the content, quality, and performance of tutoring services.
4. Mathema.me does not guarantee educational outcomes and bears no responsibility for the didactic quality of tutoring services.
4. Registration and Eligibility
1. Use of the Platform requires prior registration and acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
2. Registration is free of charge.
3. Users must provide accurate and up-to-date information.
4. Paid services may be used only by Users who are at least 14 years old. Tutors who are natural persons must be at least 18 years old.
5. Where required by law, consent of a legal representative must be obtained.
5. Payments and Vouchers
1. Students purchase vouchers (hours) through the Platform.
2. Vouchers may be exchanged exclusively for tutoring services provided through the Platform.
3. Payments are processed via authorized third-party payment service providers.
4. Prices and available packages are displayed on the Platform and may change prospectively.
6. Data Protection (GDPR)
6.1 Data Controller

6.2 Purpose of Processing
Personal data is processed for the purposes of:

enabling access to and use of the Platform,

organizing and conducting online tutoring sessions,

facilitating Tutoring Agreements,

processing payments and settlements,

ensuring Platform security and development.
Personal data is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.
7. Limitation of Liability
1. Mathema.me shall be liable only in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence, to the extent permitted by law.
2. Mathema.me shall not be liable for acts or omissions of Tutors or for disputes arising from Tutoring Agreements.
3. Mandatory consumer protection rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
8. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Estonia, excluding conflict of law rules.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions shall limit mandatory consumer rights granted under applicable European Union law or the laws of the User’s country of habitual residence.
9. Jurisdiction
1. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Estonia, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
2. Disputes arising directly between a Student and a Tutor under a Tutoring Agreement shall be resolved in accordance with the law applicable to that agreement.
10. Place of Service Provision
For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions, the place of provision of services by Mathema.me shall be deemed to be the Republic of Estonia, irrespective of the User’s physical location.
11. Language Version
These Terms & Conditions are drafted in the English language.
In the event of any inconsistency between the English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail, unless mandatory provisions of applicable law require otherwise.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is held to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, such provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
